My dad, who is a former Marine and police officer, started his gunshop / pawnshop business the year I was born. Having said that, it goes without saying that I’ve been surrounded by guns and shooting sports my entire life. I thought I knew how to shoot well enough. I have no prior experience with guns and wanted to take a basic pistol safety class. TAC-SITE offers a firearms safety class at a reasonable price in Baldwin County. The class instructor is highly skilled and presents the material in a very effective, relaxed style. I am a wife and mother of two, whose husband travels a lot with his job. I felt that I needed more education and training with the pistol that I have to protect our home with in his absence. On 6/15/2013, I attended the TAC-SITE basic firearm training. In my personal opinion, this course was exactly what I needed to feel more comfortable having a gun in my home with my children. I now know how to shoot accurately and safely to ensure that my family is safe. The instructor was very patient and very informative. There were several women in the class and he did not have a problem at all dealing with the low skill level that we held with the mechanics of breaking down the gun for clearing and cleaning of the gun. As a Physical Therapist, I also feel that I should share my professional opinion. My mother-in-law suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis and attended the same class with me. I was very impressed at how the instructor spent extra time to ensure that he helped her adapt her shooting to compensate for her limited range of motion in her hands. He also helped her choose a more appropriate pistol to allow her to handle the gun more comfortably and safely. He was very patient and understanding. I have already and will continue to recommend this class to my friends and family. I look forward to taking more classes at TAC-SITE in the future. I have always been afraid of guns and I have refused to have a loaded gun in our home for many years. I no longer wanted to be afraid and Jason has given me the tools and the confidence I needed to handle my gun in a competent manner. His basic pistol safety course provides classroom techniques and hands on manipulation, safety being the most important. Once I understood how this mechanical device (gun) worked and learned the basic operational skills, I no longer feared guns. Now, I enjoy putting my skills to practice at his shooting range. TAC-SITE was recommended to a friend and I while searching ideas for an employee morale event. We decided to take the Advanced Marksmanship Class from Jason. The class was very informative. When I came to the class, I knew I was shooting wrong but I didn’t know how to fix it. By the end of the day, Jason had corrected my form and taught me the proper way to shoot, not only for accuracy but form as well. Jason was very knowledgeable and made the class very fun and entertaining. Knowing as little as I did about proper handgun skills, I knew for sure that the information was going to to go straight over my head but I didn’t.
